When referees create a COL account, is there a contract regarding communicating with them and sharing their contact information with programs?

When referees create a CaRMS Online account, the final step is accepting the referee declaration that states:

I hereby declare that the information I have provided is accurate and that it may be released to university program(s) for information purposes.

We strongly recommend that referees put their letters of reference on letterhead so the programs or file reviewers can communicate with them should they need to.

If their contact information is missing and we are advised by a program or file reviewer, we make every effort to contact the referee to ask them to add their contact information to their reference document.

If we are unsuccessful in communicating with them, then as per the declaration which they would have accepted when creating their account, we can share their contact details for information purposes.
