Post-match process (PMP) at a glance and common questions

A post-match process (PMP) is offered after completion of the FM/ES and R-1 match.
Programs are not obligated to participate in this process.
There's no cost to applicants during the PMP because there are no ranking or matching services included.
To participate in PMP, applicants must have participated in either first or second iteration. However, if their only participation became withdrawn, then they will not be able to participate.
All arrangements are coordinated between the PGME Office, the program and the applicant; CaRMS is not involved beyond application submission.
Programs have immediate access to submitted applications.
Available programs can be added or removed at any time by the PGME Office within the PMP timeline period
Once an applicant accepts an offer:
- the program downloads the applicant's application from CaRMS Online; and
- The PGME Office withdraws/unparticipates the program from the PMP; and
- The program completes the Residency Accepted Outside Of CaRMS form and sends it to CaRMS.

Why can't I pull up programs in the PMP? Check to see that they have 'participated' in COL.
Why won't the system let me register? Most likely they did not participate in the R-1 and are therefore ineligible to participate in the PMP.
Why can't I pull up Quebec programs? Check if they are eligible for the regular stream or particular stream programs.
I'm confused about whether there are positions available. Programs are not required to enter quota.
