What do I do if I get an inquiry from the media?

If you get any calls, chats or e-mails from the media, please follow these steps:

1. Instruct them to submit on online media request form on carms.ca here:

https://www.carms.ca/contact/media-requests/

2. If they insist on talking, ask for a summary of the inquiry and take notes and send to Lisa in Teams but do not ever transfer the call to her. Mention that the media request form goes directly to the person responsible for responding when it is filled out and they will reply as soon as possible and that you will also send an extra message in addition to the media form.

3. If they are still insistent, explain that Help Desk phone line is merely for helping applicants and faculty members with general or technical questions concerning our services. That we are not able to answer media inquiries and, since our appointed Media Relations co-worker is not currently available, they need to complete the media request form for the quickest answer.
